Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you need to know about concrete ranch rail fence — pricing, installation, durability, and ordering.

What does concrete ranch rail fence cost?+

Material pricing starts at $34 per linear foot for 2-rail, $37/ft for 3-rail, and $40/ft for 4-rail. These are materials-only prices. Installation quotes are available upon request. For 100 feet of 3-rail fence, you are looking at approximately $3,700 in materials. Contractor and volume pricing is available — call us for wholesale rates.

Does it really look like wood?+

Yes. Each concrete rail and post is cast from molds taken from real wood, producing a deep wood-grain texture on both sides. From a distance, most people cannot tell the difference between concrete ranch rail and natural timber. Up close, the texture is convincing and consistent across every piece. Multiple stain colors are available to enhance the wood appearance.

How is concrete ranch rail fence installed?+

Posts are set in concrete footings (2 feet deep, 2 bags of 60-lb fast-set per post). After a 24-hour cure, the horizontal rails simply slide into pre-molded slots in the posts from the top. No mortar, adhesive, or mechanical fasteners are needed. The weight of the concrete holds everything in place. A typical 100-foot run can be completed in a day by two people.

What configurations are available?+

Three standard configurations: 2-rail (approximately 3 feet tall, ideal for decorative borders), 3-rail (approximately 4.5 feet, the most popular for horse farms and estates), and 4-rail (approximately 5.5 feet, maximum containment for livestock). Multiple stain colors are available: Natural Wood, Cedar, Weathered Barnwood, and custom colors.

Can concrete ranch rail contain livestock?+

Yes. Every rail and post is rated at 5,000+ PSI and is steel-reinforced. The 3-rail and 4-rail configurations are specifically designed for horse farms, cattle ranches, and other livestock operations. Unlike wood that horses can chew, kick through, or lean until it breaks, concrete ranch rail stands up to animal contact without damage.

How does it handle Florida hurricanes and weather?+

Concrete ranch rail is impervious to rain, humidity, UV exposure, and wind. Posts are set in 2-foot-deep concrete footings that provide excellent wind resistance. Unlike wood that rots in Florida moisture or vinyl that becomes brittle in sun, concrete actually gets stronger over time as it continues to cure. It will not warp, split, crack, or blow over in storms.

How does the 20-year cost compare to wood?+

Concrete ranch rail costs $34-$40 per linear foot one time, with zero maintenance over its 40+ year lifespan. Wood split rail costs $15-$25 per foot initially but requires staining every 2-3 years ($3-5/ft each time), plus full replacement every 7-12 years. Over 20 years, wood costs $45-$75 per foot when you factor in maintenance and replacements. Concrete saves you 30-50% over two decades while looking better the entire time.
